Meet Georgia’s ‘real life’ zombie defenders

Georgia film maker Jon Hurst debuted his short mockumentary When The Zombies Come at the Sundance Film Festival in 2013. But the setting for the “hardware store in the middle of nowhere” isn’t quite as remote as the film makes it out to be. In fact, it was shot in metro Atlanta at the Ace Hardware on Dogwood Road in Lawerenceville.

Hurst worked at the store, but his corporate overlord didn’t find the video as clever as tens of thousands of viewers online. Shortly after the film was uploaded to YouTube an Ace spokesperson uploaded this response:
